In light of all the negative news and ways in which we are shown how people are unkind to one another, I thought I would start a page on my blog highlighting acts of kindness. Acts of kindness happen far more than we see reported; it’s just not newsworthy. I would like to use this forum for others to post acts of kindness they have witnessed. This can be in written or video format.
I would like to start by sharing a simple act of kindness. My husband had gone shopping and was bringing in the groceries. The rest of us welcomed him home, but did not immediately offer to help. My grandson, who is 8, piped up and said, “I think someone should help grandpa bring in the groceries.” Of course we should have, so we all got up and helped him bring them in and put them away. As my grandson demonstrated, it’s important to recognize, and then verbalize the right thing to do. One should never sit back and follow the group inaction. Kudos to my grandson for reminding us that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. -Aesop
